RO4535 appears in Rogers' selector as the flame-retardant member of the RO4500 antenna family. This record preserves that technical reference while distinguishing it from the currently retrieved RO4500 datasheet, whose table now covers RO4533 and RO4534. That difference makes current configuration and supply confirmation especially important.

Material system

Ceramic-filled hydrocarbon thermoset reinforced with woven glass

Technical properties

RO4535 — reported properties and conditions
PropertyReported valueConditions / source
Process dielectric constant3.44 ± 0.08Typical, 10 GHz, 23°C; IPC-TM-650 2.5.5.5 clamped stripline; direction is not separately recorded here. Source
Design dielectric constant3.6Typical; selector guide Design Dk column and footnote 11, thick-microstrip determination of substrate thickness-axis permittivity. Exact frequency is not separately specified for this grade. Source
Dissipation factor0.0037Typical, 10 GHz, 23°C; IPC-TM-650 2.5.5.5; direction is not separately recorded here. Source
Thermal conductivity0.6 W/(m·K)Typical; selector guide laminate table, ASTM D5470 at 50°C. Table does not identify axis. Source

Typical reported values are not a purchase specification. Process Dk, design Dk and values measured at different frequencies are not interchangeable.

Selection and design notes

  • For an existing RO4535 design, retain the original drawing, laminate certificate and historical acceptance limits before choosing a replacement. A nearby process Dk from another grade does not establish interchangeable antenna resonance or PIM behavior.
  • For a new design, compare currently confirmed flame-retardant antenna materials and document why the older RO4535 reference remains relevant before releasing procurement files.

Thickness and copper options

The selector lists antenna-core configurations; current orderable RO4535 thicknesses must be confirmed from Rogers or an authorized supplier.

Historical ED/LoPro options must be matched to the offered material; do not transfer a PIM figure between copper constructions.

Fabrication considerations

  • Ask the supplier to identify the exact document revision supporting the offered material. If a substitute is proposed, build a coupon or antenna sample with the new foil and thickness and compare the response against the original design requirement.

Application fit

  • Legacy antenna designs
  • Material substitution studies
  • Base-station antenna references

Limits and substitution checks

  • The selector numbers below are traceable reference values, not evidence that every old construction is currently available. Omission from one updated datasheet is not proof of discontinuation. Automatic calculator presets are disabled until the offered construction and supporting data are reconciled.
